Did you know I love making cards?

Oh yeah! Card making was the very first craft I tried. The first card I made was in third grade. It was my mom's Bday. I didn't have much of an idea about making cards. So I picked up a piece of white chart sheet,  folded it in half and then glued two leaves from a money plant in the garden and added a celosia flower (more commonly referred to as velvet flower)  in the middle. I remember thinking the card needed something to make it extra special. All I had were two tiny glass beads one of which was broken. I had been saving them up for a long while (my treasures)  and after a lot of thought I glued them on the card.
My mom hung onto that card for years after the leaves and flower dried up and told me once that she had loved that card so much.

In January I came across paru's Card Making challenges blog ( was intrigued. But with a toddler to look after, time to craft is really scarce. But February is special. I had to make a card for my hubby and Paru's challenge was to use scraps. Perfect considering most of my paper collection is old wedding invitations. So here is my submission for the challenge.
I used the scraps from the wedding invitations shown below.

And came up with this.

I used an ordinary office punch to make holes on a piece of the brown card and layered it onto a scrap of cream card. The heart inside the shaker and the bee are puffy stickers. The cute cat sticker turned out to be translucent. So I stuck it on a piece of cream card scrap and fussy cut it. It's the first time I made a shaker card and I am quite pleased with how it turned out.
And the hubby loved it ;-).
